History Of The Work!

Disciples on Mission is an international youth missionary organization.  It is a cross-cultural, non-denominational, faith ministry that insists upon a personal, practical knowledge of Christ as both Lord and Saviour as a prelude for membership.

The vision for this great work began like a tale.  It all started in 1986, when a young under-graduate: Bro. INNO-PRAISE IFEDIBA, caught a glimpse of eternity and the degenerate (lost) state of man.  Having realized the mercy of God in sending a ransom for man (The Lord Jesus Christ) to redeem him from the clutches of the devil; and the wrath to come; he began praying that ‘the love that rescued him from sin and destruction will drive him to compel men to appreciate and accept the love of God in the face of Christ.’ (Ac.20:24).

The burning desire took him to the Missionary Institute where he had a vigorous training on cross-cultural mission.  He worked in some local missions fields; and took active part in village evangelistic outreaches in Nigeria, before proceeding to the Gambia and West Coast from where the Lord re-directed him back to Nigeria to “prepare Me an army of youths that will reach Africa for Jesus.”

On arrival back in Nigeria, he inaugurated the ministry: first as a praying group known as God’s Prayer Army to intercede for revival in Nigeria and the evangelization of Africa (1990), and later as an international missionary organization, that was fully incorporated in Nigeria in March 1994.

The young ministry has been like “a root growing out of a dry ground” (Isa.53:2b), but the divine hands of mercy had watered it.

Its various exploits, challenges and projections can be understood by getting involved.  For, as the ministry slogan reads “The glory of love is in laboring to express it.” And to us in this little Team, “every call for help is answered.” (Num. 16:28, Isa.48:16)

The arms/affiliates of this Team constitute a work-force that is more committed to Christ above their personal interests.  And as you get more acquainted with the ministry, our prayer is that you will find a space in its various areas of service, to fulfill God’s mandatory call upon your life.

WE ARE NOT A CHURCH, BUT WE SERVE THE BODY OF CHRIST.

SHALOM! MARANATHA!!
Yours-in search-of the lost,
Bro. Inno-Praise Ifediba
